Credit card finance is a very expensive way to borrow money and should only be considered in the short term in an emergency.

Some credit cards have a 30- 55 day interest free period before the outstanding amount needs to be paid off in full. Rates range on average from 11.64 % right up to 26% with many around 18.75 %.

There are cards called medical credit cards and these have similar fees and charges to ordinary credit cards. Check all the conditions carefully and speak to an accountant/ financial planner before paying for medical treatment using any credit card.
